Dear coffee god...please bring a Stumptown Coffee Roasters to Falls Church

Stumptown Coffee Roasters is one of those rare gems where you just feel cooler for walking in. It manages to feel rugged and authentic while serving you expensive coffee in a uber hip location--maybe it's the cash only rule? I love splitting my time between staring at the people who wait patiently with their cash, and the hipper than hip hipsters behind the counter.

After purchasing my medium skim cappacino, and picking up a bag of Hair Bender blend (A complex espresso blend featuring floral notes of jasmine while the flavor is a combination of sweet citrus, milk chocolate and caramel...AMAZING!) I made my way to the ajoining Ace Hotel. If I thought Stumptown was a little slice of Americana heaven, the Ace Hotel lobby was the whole cake!

While sitting in the lobby taking in every inch of the American Preppy meets Wild Wild West, I almost expected to see JFK drinking scotch with the Marlboro Man.

I love the large white columns, espresso furniture, large American flag, and the industrial pendant lights. The lobby made me want to use a typewriter or catch a train.

Next time you are in NYC, you have to make a stop by Stumptown...just be sure to bring your paige boy hat and boot spurs. http://www.acehotel.com/newyork

Stumptown's Direct Trade Committment (from their website): "Stumptown’s Direct Trade strategy is based on several components, but only one premise: We nurture our relationships with coffee producers and give them an opportunity to command better prices, which allow them to take care of their families, invest in their farms, and realize a future as a coffee farmer in this changing and trying world. Through these relationships, we bring each coffee to its fullest potential, and in turn, its fullest value. Our commitment is our promise to these farms as much as it is a promise to you. "
PS I love that this Direct Trade Coffee Farmer is wearing a Red Sox hat...GO SOX!
